Embracing Motherhood: The Rawness of Being Joy, Fear, and Incredibly blessed.
Becoming a mother is a profound and transformative experience, at least that’s how Adinda portrays herself who will welcome her first born soon. “It's a whirlwind of emotions – excitement, nervousness, joy, and a touch of fear. For me, the dominant feeling is one of immense gratitude.”
“I aspire to be an imperfect mother. I believe that embracing imperfection is crucial for both myself and my child as I have learned that being a natural-born perfectionist is a difficult way to live. I want to encourage exploration, discovery, and an appreciation for the beauty found in flaws. I hope to instill in my child the belief that they can achieve anything they set their mind to, as long as they strive their best to bring it to fruition and believe in themselves,” she added.
As a daughter to experience pregnancy, Andinda has maintained and gained advice from her mother and sisters to prepare herself to become a mom. “That’s the nature of being a daughter and having sisters. It’s always brutally raw and honest, but at the same time, it reminds me to be grateful.”
And as we know, motherhood is quite challenging, especially as a first time mother. “Being a mom is hard work. It’s as if you’re dead from fatigue yet have never felt so alive all at once. It’s a never-ending roller coaster. Just when you think you’ve got things under control, you will realize how wrong you are. You will never have things completely under control. Your child is their own person with their own wants and needs. Being a mother means never ending sacrifices. But it’s also the most beautiful thing in life—it’s when your heart splits into two,” she explains.
She also portrays her mother, someone who she believes has an important role to her motherhood journey will become, “Our mother has always taught us to stand tall and strong, to roll with the punches like a lady, and to treat people from all walks of life with kindness and empathy. I will forever hold on to the morals my mother has taught us and instill them in my child—and in all of my future children. This foundation is the very least I can give them as a mother, just as my own mother did for me,” she ended.
